Railway Alignment

The Northern Link includes Kwu Tung Station on the East Rail Line, the Main Line and the Spur Line. The Main Line runs between Kwu Tung Station and Kam Sheung Road Station, with three intermediate stations at San Tin, Ngau Tam Mei and Au Tau. The Spur Line connects the interchange San Tin Station to the new Huanggang Port in Shenzhen via Chau Tau and The Loop stations.

The Northern Link Main Line will connect the East Rail Line and the Tuen Ma Line; while the Spur Line will provide direct connectivity between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, facilitating travel by the public. Alongside the development of the Northern Link, various infrastructure projects and new development areas will be completed along the alignment, stimulating economic growth and facilitating the mobility of citizens, thereby providing fresh impetus for development and creating a land of possibilities!

Kwu Tung Station

Kwu Tung Station will be located at the town centre of the future Kwu Tung North New Development Area, facilitating the travel of residents living in the existing community and the new development areas. It will unleash the development potential of the surrounding areas. Passengers can interchange easily between the East Rail Line and the Northern Link at the future Kwu Tung Station.

San Tin Station

San Tin Station will be located at the centre of the residential development in the future San Tin Technopole, strengthening the transport infrastructure network for residents living in the existing community and the future San Tin Technopole. It will enhance the transport connectivity between San Tin and its surrounding areas, supporting San Tin to become a liveable and accessible community and an employment hub.

Ngau Tam Mei Station

Ngau Tam Mei Station will be located within the Ngau Tam Mei New Development Area, serving the adjacent comprehensive residential community and Northern Metropolis University Town. Ngau Tam Mei Station is just one station apart from San Tin Station, it will facilitate the development of the innovation and technology (I&T) industry in San Tin Technopole.

Au Tau Station

Au Tau Station will be located adjacent to housing development sites around Sha Po as well as future public facilities in the area. It will strengthen the transport infrastructure network for existing and future residents living nearby, thereby enhancing the transport connectivity between Au Tau and its surrounding areas.

Kam Sheung Road Station

Kam Sheung Road Station on the Northern Link will be located next to its counterpart on the Tuen Ma Line. It will strengthen the transport infrastructure network for existing and future communities, such as the public housing developments at Kam Tin South in Yuen Long. The future Kam Sheung Road Station will transform into an upgraded interchange hub to connect the Northern Link and the Tuen Ma Line. It will make it easier for residents living nearby to travel across districts, as well as between Mainland China and Hong Kong by using cross-boundary train services on the East Rail Line.

Chau Tau Station

Chau Tau Station is proposed to be located underneath the future road of San Tin Technopole.

The Loop Station

The Loop Station is proposed to be located within Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park (HSITP) in the San Tin Technopole.

The Huanggang Port Station is proposed to be connected to the new Huanggang Port in Shenzhen.
